Dim light in Ventura #204. Just a few minutes until I have to get on a call for a client—to be a fortune teller, you know.

But first, I have to calm my nerves.
Even though I’ve been doing this for a few years now, the truth is I’m still nervous. Still new. Still learning.
I head down to the lobby and say hello to Adam, letting him know I might be checking out a little late today—I have a call. There’s fresh coffee waiting on the little bar, but today I choose matcha green tea. Too much coffee gives me the jitters. They have hazelnut creamer today, which feels like a small luxury. Then I spot it: one chocolate muffin left, almost as if it had been waiting just for me.
I make my way back to Room #204, light the reefer, and cleanse the space with palo santo. Now the vibe is set, let’s get down to the ritual.
